Callirhoe digitata
Fringed Poppy Mallow, Standing Wine Cup, Finger Mallow
Zone 5-8

The mid-West Native is
great for the person who doesn't have the room it takes to grow
Callirhoe involucrata below or wants a more vertical tower of
blooming power because it doesn't let up from May
through September! Long tap root makes plant drought
tolerant when established but difficult to move successfully, so
plant it where you want it to stay. Bluish white, thin,
finger-like foliage and fringed tipped magenta blooms.
Plants tend to 'lean' in soil that's too rich. Plant in the
most pathetic well-drained spot in your garden where next to nothing
will grow, don't fertilize and it will be mucho happy! Well
does it sound near perfect? Okay, the downside -- deer and
rabbits do like it so it's not quite perfect but it doesn't seem to
mind the rabbits eating the lower foliage. With deer eating
the upper foliage, it's another matter.
Soil:
Poor, gravely, Well-drained H: 24-48" W:
12-24" B/M: Magenta/5-9 |

An
herbaceous perennial in the Buttercup family Native to marshes, wet
woodlands and ditches. 1-2" shiny, golden yellow flowers can have
4-9 petals, but generally have 5 from early spring to late summer.
Best flowering usually occurs in full sun, but plants appreciate
some part shade in the heat of the summer, especially in warm zones
where the can go summer dormant if they stay consistently hot.
While greens and blooms can be COOKED and eaten, the plant itself is
poisonous and can cause rashes for some people.

Camassia leichtlinii v. suksdorfii
Great Camass
Zone: 5-9

A
rare plant that will grow beneath a Black Walnut tree among other
places. It's a native of western North American that grows in
moist meadows. A bulb that makes a good fresh cut flower. Like
most bulbs, better in mass but a good multiplier so you don't need
to buy the 'mass' -- if you plant it "they will come".
Grassy 1" wide foliage produces a terminal spike of 20-80 star
shaped flowers per spike. Blue blooms with yellow stamens.
Takes clay, dry or wet soil.

Strap-like
leaves reach up to 2 feet in length. Its light blue-violet to white
flowers begin to bloom from the bottom, progressing toward the top
of the spike-like raceme at the end of the plant’s central stalk. By
mid-summer, the basal leaves turn yellow and wither away and the
plant remains dormant for the rest of the year. A lovely
Native bulb that's pretty much indifferent to soil which is quite
handy! Good multiplier.

This flower is AMAZING.
Something totally different! Lacy white Chinese lanterns pop & recurve over this stunning import from Dan Hinkley who named it for the daughter of Song Ki-hun's, his friend from Chollipo Arboretum in S. Korea. Vigorous roots, but not too overwhelming. Distinctive, thick, cut foliage as well." Terra Nova. Does especially well in the South. Well-behaved for this species;
clump-former instead of a conqueror. Attracts hummingbirds and
is a great cut flower.

cultivar of Campanula with a profusion of large drooping, tubular

Bellflower blooming for 6-7 weeks if deadheaded and needs to be well

the nursery of Elizabeth Strangeman in Kent England. A strong
